Viridor Adley ERF is an energy recovery facility, basically a waste incinerator facility that produces electricity which is fed into the national grid. The site had problems with insects entering and infesting the building due to the waste they handle a poorly designed ventilation & louvre system. Scaffold was the first option considered, this was not very cost effective as the louvres were 40m above the warehouse floor which would mean an enormous amount of scaffold. 3D Access Solutions were appointed to install insect meshing to the inside of the louvres using rope access techniques, this being the most cost effective option whilst also minimising disruption to their daily activities.
